it only works if the stock price goes back up.
and that is a pretty big assumption when you think that you are buying a non growing company in a stagnant and highly competitive industry.
For a comparison, NAB is the same price it was in 1997. So basically you have made 5% from the dividend. Sounds like huge money.
Dollar cost averaging is for amateurs. If you're going to DCA into low quality stocks like this, you're better off buying an index fund or buying into a decently performing LIC.
