Friendly hint: Never take heart form what I do or don't do. For I have no insights whatsoever into what share prices might do over any given timeframe, or why a stock moves 5% in a given day, or what it will do tomorrow morning.
Breaking even on intra-day trades or trying to buy at the precise bottom or sell at the precise top I'll leave for those with the energy to pursue those sorts of things.

You are right, they are not. But:
1. Their mutual inclusiveness is not omni-directional: the latter informs the former, and
2. Capital gains are influenced by indeterminate randomness; dividends are strictly non-random.
And I like my money too much to expose it to mere market randomness.
