an individual share can always outperform both 1. the index (and the index generally outperforms) 2. managed funds (shares, bonds, fixed interest)
there is a small percentage of investors who outperform everything and are better doing their own thing.
Buffet reckons the best thing to do is buy the index don't mess around, they don't (the only reason they don't) is because they want to run the companies.
While you might smash the index the chances are over many years unfortunately you will struggle unless you are an exceptional investor. you might double your money but then loose the gain on the next. l would be keeping it in super and focus on career, marriage, kids, house for all your excitement. if retired focus on the roses.
