Where will IGO toll or offtake its Ni ore from Nova now?
Its 1.5MTpa MILL has been an amazing new build and bonus and keeps milling the ore to higher Ni conc but the offtake will be sold 50% to BHP yet if its smelter and refinery are shuttered then BHP wont be needing that 50% of IGO Nova conc anymore so IGO will need to sell it on market likely to Trafigura its other 50% offtake partner
Yet Trafigura sent PAN into administration and sends most its conc to chinas Jinchuan or Tsingshan who has been shorting the LME for a decade and wants to keep LME conc prices low while it flips its prices for a 1000% markup on refined produced product.
Tough choice for IGO as these offtake deals end.
They will have to find offtake buyers as BHP has now become unreliable yet again.
