Primarily because he muscled in on the WSA deal and IGO was happy to enough spread the risk.
As for a good relationship with China, IMO he's just as likely to sell out the pCAM IP developed. However, because IGO has primarily sulfide Ni the damage may be limited.
His abilities are on show at FFI (Forrest Future Industries) and FMG s/h aren't enthused.
