Well, I'll give you my opinion. Price sensitive announcements are meant to be delivered while the market is closed. Hence, announcing prior to open as often as possible or with a trading halt. Announcements are also meant to be delivered before the news can leak out, once again to prevent unfair advantage of news being taken to get in early before a share price move.
Therefore, what the company currently does is good form, is unlikely to change (read ASIC would be chasing them if they did change) and will continue to be company practise. The market must be kept informed at the earliest opportunity of news relating to the company.
