Thanks very much for offering your opinion. I would have thought that if price sensitive announcements were made as soon as the information was in the hands of the company and verified as correct no matter what time of day there would be no room for market manipulation/information leaking out, so less chance of insider trading?
I wasn't aware that price sensitive announcements were preferably made when the market was closed. Where did that come from? I understand there is sometimes a need for a trading halt while information is verified etc. and that's fine with me. In general though, I would personally prefer to see announcements made any time of day as long as accuracy is maintained.
