Aug 11 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1030 GMT on Wednesday:
** U.S. cybersecurity company NortonLifeLock Inc NLOK.O has agreed to buy London-listed rival Avast Plc AVST.L for up to $8.6 billion in cash and shares to create a leader in consumer security software.
** French retailer Carrefour CARR.PA is planning to launch a sale of its Taiwan business, which is valued at around 1.6 billion euros ($1.9 billion) in the coming weeks, three people with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
** China Traditional Chinese Medicine Holdings 0570.HK said its parent Sinopharm had decided not to proceed with a possible privatisation of the Chinese medicine maker.
** Shares of debt-laden China Evergrande Group 3333.HK jumped after it confirmed that it is in talks to sell certain assets, as the move could ease cashflow pressure amid market speculation over a potential restructuring.
** Australia's Iress Ltd (IRE) said it had opened its books to EQT after the Sweden-based private equity firm made a revised proposal to buy the software provider for an enterprise value of A$3.2 billion ($2.35 billion).
** AT&T's T.N WarnerMedia is in talks to sell its tabloid TMZ to Fox Corp FOXA.O , the Information reported, citing people familiar with the situation.
** Truist Financial Corp TFC.N said it would buy ECN Capital Corp's ECN.TO service finance business for $2 billion, aiming to expand its point-of-sale lending business.
