Have to unfortunately agree with you Gw, I would go as far as saying its a foolish decision --------unless there is something only BB knows about it, ie does he see strong indications the grade is higher at depth which would make it worth being mined as an inderground mine from the get go.
the strip ratio I would think will be very high if its opencut and the grade is nothing special so think big CAPEX for a high tpa plant.
