Ivanhoe Australia Limited (ASX:IVA) has announced the appointment of Bob Vassie to the position of Managing Director and CEO effective today.
Mr Vassie replaces Ms Ines Scotland and has 27 years of international mining industry experience.
Ivanhoe says Mr Vassie's technical and operational background will support the delivery of its projects and focus of improving shareholder returns.
The mineral developer recently completed a retail entitlement offer raising about $76 million.
Ivanhoe Australia booked a net loss of $81.5 million in the first half of the 2012 financial year.
