News: Jameson Resources starts metallurgical coal drilling in Canada

Jameson Resources (ASX:JAL) has started the exploration program at its Dunlevy metallurgical coal Project in northeast British Columbia, Canada.

Dunlevy covers about 2,646 hectares in the Peace River coal field and is on strike from major metallurgical coal operations and projects.

However, it has multiple coal seam outcrops and apparently simpler geology than neighbouring properties, characteristics that indicate potential for a large, low cost operation.

The drilling seeks to establish the number of seams, seam thickness, coal quality, overall structure, and to prepare an initial resource estimate.

Phase 1 drilling is expected to last about three weeks with coal quality results available shortly thereafter.

This will allow the company to make a decision with respect to proceeding with Phase 2.
