TOKYO, April 2 (Reuters) - Premium for aluminium shipments to Japanese buyers for April to June was set at $82 per tonne, down 1.2% from the preceding quarter amid mounted fears of falling demand due to the spread of the coronavirus, four sources directly involved in the pricing talks said.

The figure is down from the $83 per tonne paid in the January-March quarter and marks a third straight quarterly drop.

Japan is Asia's biggest importer of the light metal and the premiums PREM-ALUM-JP for primary metal shipments it agrees to pay each quarter over the London Metal Exchange (LME) cash price CMAL0 set the benchmark for the region.
