Leighton Holdings Limited (ASX:LEI) wholly owned subsidiary John Holland Group has been awarded the second stage of construction for the new children’s hospital in Perth, after completing the first half of the $1.2 billion project.
The group’s Managing Director says the project takes the combined value of its health care portfolio across Australia to about $2 billion.
The stage two works are expected to be worth about $851 million.
The hospital is scheduled for completion in late 2015 and will remain a public hospital.
Leighton Holdings posted a net profit of $106 million in the first half of the 2012 financial year.
