News: Kimberley Diamonds engages Consulmet for Lerala mine work

    Kimberley Diamonds Limited (ASX:KDL) will use Consulmet to carry out detailing and design work for modifications of the plant at the Lerala Diamond mine in Botswana.
     
    The mining company says the engagement is the first step in re-commissioning the plant and recommencing mining at Lerala.
     
    The company is aiming to restart mining in the fourth quarter of the 2015 financial year following the approval of the environmental impact assessment and once the plant is re-commissioned. 
     
    The company plans to modify the plant to reliably treat 200 tonnes per hour and Consulmet has been engaged to carry out the work.  
     
    Once in production the mine has a forecast life of 7 years and producing an average of 357,000 carats per year. 
     
    KDL reported a net loss of $6.88 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
