Leighton Holdings’ Limited(ASX:LEI) Visionstream Pty Limited says it’s won a contract extension with Chorus worth over NZ$500 million to continue construction of New Zealand’s Ultra Fast Broadband Network in the Auckland region.

 

The contract with Chorus places Visionstream as a key supplier for the delivery and roll-out of the broadband project for the next six years.

 

Leighton Contractors Managing Director Craig Laslett says the work is in line with the company’s infrastructure and services business.

 

Visionstream is also part of the roll-out of the Rural Broadband Initiative that will take place over the next three to four years in the upper north island of New Zealand.

 

Leighton Holdings generated a net profit of $442 million in the 2012 financial year.
