News: Leighton Contractors secures $200M PNG cont

    Leighton Holdings Limited (ASX:LEI) wholly owned subsidiary Leighton Contractors Papua New Guinea division, has been awarded a contract worth about $200 million to build Esso Highland’s office facilities in Port Moresby.



    Managing Director Craig Laslett says the project represents its long-term growth strategy to diversify its operations into emerging markets such as Papua New Guinea.



    Construction is scheduled to commence this year with an expected workforce of up to 360.



    Leighton Holdings recorded a net profit of $106 million in the 2012 financial year.
