Sorry Haz but that's simply not correct. For a start look at the post about COB. Where do you think the supply of black mass trial material came from or do you think the supplier sourced some from LIT.

The point is "income" in the battery recycling world in OZ comes almost 100% from the Stewardship Scheme and that to date has been circa AUD12M$.
If you break that all down most of the batteries are alkaline. So how does LIT process those chemistries and what are the outputs ?
Exports of spent batteries cannot take place without a permit and there ain't many of those in place, so where's all the Li Batts - sitting in drums waiting for some tech to come about or being processed by others in the game aside from LIT.
