While you can pull together numbers to come up with potential SP based on the transaction and possible revenues in the future, the main issue I have with this and based on the market’s response to the last announcement is the loss of control.
Ganfeng will now have if this does occur a stake 50% greater.
LLL will have all the risk of operating in Africa yet will they have any real say on how things are run now?
I doubt it.
Ganfeng have an obligation to Ganfeng shareholders and will do whatever is in their best interest’s.
The $65m USD is excessive if this is what is required to fulfil funding shortfall.
If we were to put $50m USD of that into the JV, Ganfeng would put in $75m USD.
That’s a lot for a project that was fully funded even if their is another $50m in duties etc,
I can’t see institutions being keen on LLL as a lone asset company with such a minority stake.
Once you have sold the stake there is no going back.
The announcements when it arrives will be very interesting.
