I agree with your comments.
GV was basically handed the keys to an Ocean Liner but the reality is, he only ever had the license to drive a speed boat. He was out of his depth well and truly. He sang the song we all wanted to hear but could never deliver. Pretty much sums it up.
The rest of his crew that were appointed all looked very experienced and capable and were all paid handsomely for doing very little over a sustained period of time.
None of them could look anyone in the eye and convince anyone that they infact earnt their pay. LNG became the ultimate lifestyle company for all of those employees.
