Those that sell on the Spot market are the price takers.
A couple of quotes from the other day affirming the market that Lynas sells in to.
"We don't sell anything into the spot market and we think that, that is beneficial. Everything that we sell is on a contracted basis with some price formula associated with it."
"We do have some customers who are on fixed prices, we have some customers who are on floor ceiling prices, and we have some where we have agreed a premium above the market price, but it follows the market price over time."
Of course the Lynas achieved price will tend to be lower when the spot market tanks, as it has now.
