There is no doubt gold as well as silver are doing well now given the fear/uncertainty present in the US economy right now. However MCT has a very poor record in terms of shareholder returns and also they don't have a substantial gold find right now. Who knows whether the new management will make any difference. This is the classic speculative stock. Not sure if i will participate. May be better off buying physical gold or silver or buying shares in miners with known resources.
