Of course I'm not advocating reducing government spending to increase growth, I'm simply saying that demand-side government spending is not as efficient at creating growth as tax cuts and deregulation. The vast majority of government spending is not in areas that feed back into the economy and create demand, regardless of whether you are a hardcore demand-side advocate you can't deny this. 30b less in government spending creates opportunity in the private sector that aims for efficiency, unlike government.
Not even advocating a balanced budget and I don't believe that public debt in Australia poses a risk at the current moment.
