News: MOD Australia's Sandfire approaches MOD Resources on potential merger

Jan 21 (Reuters) - Metals miner Sandfire Resources (SFR) said on Monday it has approached fellow miner MOD Resources (MOD) about a potential combination of the two companies.

Sandfire said there was no assurance that a transaction would materialize, given the preliminary and non-binding nature of the approach. It did not provide any further details.
