in Australia we shouldn't have private insurance we have a socialized health care any way. we people with private are just subsidizing Medicare and adding taxes "gst" "stamp duty" private health needs to be dismantled and started again in its current form it's useless. i have had private for 25years and never used it had 3 surgeries as needed no payments required. if I would have used private I would have had to pay $1500 out of pocket each one plus the 500 excess. my grandmother had private for over 40years. she got lung cancer in remote aus and was told by doctors and nurses not to use private as her bill would have been 10s of thousands. as airlift would have been needed both ways and recovery. I'm a share holder and member for the haters.
