MILAN, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Italian state lender CDP is still planning to bid for Telecom Italia's landline grid after U.S. investment firm KKR KKR.N made a multi-billion preliminary offer for the same asset, two sources close to the matter told Reuters.
Telecom Italia said on Thursday KKR had submitted a non-binding offer for a controlling stake in a newly created company comprising the grid, the most prized asset of the Italian debt-laden group, as well as its submarine cable unit Sparkle.
