Pete i think the lack of response to your posts are because you give the impression of being a dog whistler trying to plant overly dramatic seeds.
Lets simplify it. I'm guessing you haven't bothered to do an ounce of rudimentary research here.
As of the 31st March (end of Macquarie's financial year) they were sitting on Aud$12.6 billion in excess capital on the balance sheet.
If that doesn't provide comfort then get hold of research from either UBS, Goldman or Citi. (you can google it!)
If none of that helps then yes mate stick to your ETF's.
