News Corporation (ASX:NWS) is getting ready to buy Elisabeth Murdoch's television production business, according to London's Evening Standard.
Ms Murdoch owns 53 per cent of the company, and is reportedly set to net around $A586 million through the sale to her father's company.
Sony Entertainment is the second largest shareholder of Shine, followed by BSkyB.
It's believed News Corp wants to buy the company to boost content for cable operations in the US and Europe.
News Corporation reported a half year profit of $1.46 billion to December 31, 2010.
