As far as I know the US Government shutdown affects Federal Government offices and functions. Unless KNM's "strategy" has changed I think they're still focussing on sales at the state (NY especially) level which whose education boards are still functioning as normal. Where it might get complicated is in terms of federal funding being allocated to the states so that they know their budgets.

A second point to remember however is that the USA school year is in mid-year and only back from Christmas holidays after starting in September. I'm not sure we can expect any big announcements in the middle of the school year although I would love to hear some.
