Yeah Myer is always busy - has been for years - but that's not the issue. They have $3bn in sales!
The problem's are the margins, the lower AUD, the lack of staff (literally meaning customers DON'T end up buying the product because no one is there to answer their questions, or no one is there to take their money!) and the business's debt.
It looks like Umbers is a good operational and supply chain guy, and I'm sure he'll do a good job of improving the online capabilities, as well as in-store management. He comes from Australia Post, and they do well in small parcel management (literally millions of mini transactions), so that could help Myer get their game together.
But I think ultimately a takeover is the most exciting prospect. Everything else will take years to see benefits.
