MZI Resources (ASX:MZI) has appointed Maree Arnason as an independent non-executive director, completing the board renewal process that started in late 2014.
She has 30 years of experience within the resources, energy and manufacturing industries and brings strong corporate and governance expertise to the company’s board.
This includes an in-depth understanding of the industry development and approvals environment across exploration, large capital projects and operations.
Arnason is currently a non-executive director of Juniper, one of Western Australia’s largest aged care services organisations, and a co-founder and director of Energy Access Services, who operate an independent gas trading platform focused on WA’s domestic gas market.
She previously held several directorships and executive roles includingExecutive Director Strategy at Rey Resources (ASX:REY) and served on the leadership teams of CITIC Pacific Mining, Wesfarmers Energy and SCA Australasia.
Arnason has also held a number of site-based and corporate roles during 18 years with BHP Billiton (ASX:BHP) including appointment to the Corporate Services leadership team and numerous portfolio divestment teams.
Development of Keysbrook Mineral Sands Project in Western Australia was 44% complete at the end of March 2015, against a planned 43%.
The project is on track to commence commissioning in November 2015 with first sales scheduled for early 2016, producing over 95,000 tonnes of leucoxene and zircon products annually.
All long lead time equipment on order and on schedule.
