    National Australia Bank Limited (ASX:NAB) has acquired a 5.04 per cent stake in GrainCorp Limited (ASX:GNC).



    Takeover reports have been surrounding the grain company in the last few weeks.



    Earlier this week  fellow grain company Viterra’s (ASX:VTA) directors backed a takeover bid from Glencore International.



    NAB posted a net profit of $5.2 billion in the 2011 financial year.
