I am not suggesting to put your life savings into silver. A physical allocation of 10% precious metals, within your portfolio, is reasonable I think.

Precious metals stabilise and anchor your asset portfolio. Not saying that you should be 100% in physical precious metals, but up to 10% is reasonable.

Personally, a mix of property, equities, fixed income and bonds, and precious metals; is what I think is a proper portfolio of assets.
