I do like nea, and am impressed with their product. It's profitable, and there's so much scope for new markets and economies of scale etc.
But.... (I bet you knew a but was coming).
The satellites cost nothing once they are there, so one cannot compete in terms of cost.
The satellites give frequent updates (4 to 6 a day you mentioned).
So the only advantage nea has is the quality of their resolution.
But you are competing in a very cutting edge industry here, and who knows what the competition will roll out in the coming months.
There's also the fact that if one has 4 to 6 images a day, that effectively means that one has about 150 images in a month. Now if you have 150 images of a static object at 90cm resolution one can build up and incredible sharp image using software. Not an absolute pure image, but pretty good I would have though.
I sometimes wish nea would have stayed with the litigation stuff. Not the most exciting area, but it's been going for centuries - and the old ipr did have a win of over $20m once.
