WELLINGTON, April 5 (Reuters) - Prices for New Zealand's main commodities fell in March, ANZ Bank's commodity price index showed on Tuesday, dropping 1.3 percent for the month compared with a 0.5 percent rise in February.
On an annual basis the index is down 22.4 percent versus a fall of 17.8 percent the month before.
Prices for dairy products, a major export earner, were down 4.5 percent. Tempering the fall was a 2 percent rise for meat prices.
In New Zealand dollar terms the index was down 2.9 percent in March versus February and down 14.2 percent year-on-year.
