WELLINGTON, May 5 (Reuters) - New Zealand's near-term inflation expectations rose closer to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's (RBNZ) target mid-point of two percent for the second quarter, a survey showed on Friday.

The RBNZ's quarterly survey of expectations showed business managers forecast annual inflation to average 1.92 percent over the coming year, from 1.56 percent in the first quarter survey.

Two-year inflation expectations - seen as the time frame when RBNZ policy action will filter through to prices - rose to 2.17 percent from 1.92 percent.
