News Corp (ASX:NWS) has lifted second quarter revenues and shown earnings also grew slightly.

The media conglomerate has shown revenues pushed to $US2.28 billion in the last three months of 2014, compared to $US2.24 billion in the previous year.

Revenues from its Australian newspapers, however, were down 8 per cent which was blamed on foreign currency moves and poor advertising revenues.

Online real estate contributions surged 50 per cent thanks in part to gains by REA group while e-book sales at HarperColllins were also strong.

The company reported a first half net income of $US207 million, up from $US177 million in the same half last year.
