News Corporation’s (ASX:NWS) senior management is reportedly starting to think about what the company might do if James Murdoch stepped aside. That’s according to sources quoted by news agency Reuters.
James Murdoch is coming under increasing pressure from the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
News Corp execs are said to be preparing for the scenario, if the younger Murdoch wants to “take a breather”.
Officially, News Corp senior management has dismissed the rumours as untrue.
News Corp booked a net profit of just under $2.7 billion in the year to June 30.
