    Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation Ltd (ASX:NWS) is set to modify the terms of its controversial $12 billion takeover offer for British pay-TV giant BSkyB.

    According to the European Commission, News Corp says it is prepared to change the terms of the bid for the 61 per cent of the Sky News broadcaster that it does not already own.

    The details of the proposed changes have not been released as yet.

    For the year ended 30 June 2010, News Corp reported a net profit of $3.1 billion.
