What we do know is that various segments of the ABC like News , Radio National and ARC Rural have been providing media coverage supporting the Alliance. When I checked the Alliance's last financial return it showed net assets of about $3000. That was as at 30 June 2017. Since that date no returns appear to have been filed. Given that small amount of funds , there is nothing in the till for NHC to pay out their costs orders.
It is remarkable that plaintiffs with no apparent funds and who are apparently late filing their annual returns are given freedom to run cases in places like QCA and HCA. Surely they should be required to lodge a security to cover these cost orders.
