"Yes, if it was not for the agreements with SUN and others, IMHO NHF would not be up here close to $5".

That's a bit like saying if it was not for its astute management who understands shareholder value creation, then IMHO NHF would not be here close to $5.

Don't you think that maybe its is BECAUSE of the company's board and managers that those value accretive agreements come into being.

Or do you think they just happen by magic?

"...also health insurance has received support from a Federal Government hurt by the "Mediscare" campaign during the last Australian General Election."

You have one of the most vivid imaginations on HotCopper.

Do you not think that "Mediscare" formed part of the broader election issue that concerned the health of the Federal Government's fiscal position? Or do you think it was a political ploy crafted specifically to give free kick to the lucky shareholders of a handful of listed private health insurance?

Why do you think the Federal Government advocates viable private health insurance? Is it because the government is generally a nice guy? You don't think its because the government's fiscus can't afford to provide comprehensive health cover for the nation's ageing citizenry and therefore needs the private sector to be increasingly involved?

(Incidentally, contrary to your unsubstantiated assertions that the government has been "supporting" the private health insurance sector, scaling back the 30% rebate on private health cover premiums is not exactly supportive policy.)

"The Trump and English "Brexit" victories have also added and weighed on sentiment in turn supporting the SPs of MPL & NHF IMHO."

What "weighed on sentiment"? The Dow is currently hitting new records and the All Ords is not far from its 12-month highs, and at levels well above where it was following Trump and Brexit. Do you ever think about what you write, or do you just fire off?

"The rational reason for the sentiment rise might be that BUPA, a UK not-for-profit is now more than ever expected to perhaps leave the Australian medical insurance landscape."

    Wow.
I've not heard that at all, let alone that it is expected to be the case "more than ever".

For someone representing over one-quarter of the market, to exit that market, would be a highly significant development for the industry.

But can you tell what the basis is for this expectation that you have quoted?
