I came across this article. Tsingshan are listing a battery division IPO later this year called REPT Battery Energy. The article claims that Nickel Industries and Tsingshan are looking to supply battery grade chemicals to REPT and other auto makers.
If true, it explains why NIC has done the EV battery supply chain framework with Tsingshan and why they are going for the hpal project
