    Telfer is a brilliant negotiator and Placer has some 19 mill ounces of gold with Goldcorp some 6 mill in a JV.

    Goldcorp has $480 mill cash as well and Telfer is a shrewd takeover merchant.

    Now with Gold down, mines are cheaper to buy.
