Nyota is holding talks with Ethiopia’s mines ministry seeking rights to mine alluvial gold on gravel deposits within its exploration licences that will be flooded by a massive hydroelectric dam now under construction.
Alluvial gold deposits are usually reserved for artisanal miners in Ethiopia, but Nyota says the ministry is assessing large-scale mining operations before the area is flooded.....
