The penny is starting to drop regarding the importance of the cost of power. RIO is currently looking at the viability of its 3 smelters and 2 refineries in Australia and Tawai smelter in New Zealand.
Any smelter or refinery with power costs above US$0.06/kWh will currently be losing money.
