A lot of folks do not realise that the Malaysian Ringgit has fallen by a significant amount in the last couple of years,
most dramatically over the last 3 months.
It was US$ 1.00 = RM 3.00
Now it is US$ 1.00 = RM 4.11
or a depreciation of well over 37%.
Since the wages of the local staff, the cost of water, electricity, gas, chemicals etc. are all denominated in Malaysian Ringgit,
what this means is that the COP (Cost of Production) of the Lynas plant has dropped by a tremendous amount.
AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PART OF THE WHOLE "PROBLEM" IS THAT THE SALES ARE DENOMINATED IN US DOLLARS!
As such
NO MATTER HOW TOUGH IS THE GOING, LYNAS WILL NOT JUST SURVIVE BUT WILL SUCCEED AND PROSPER INTO THE NEXT CENTURY!
