I don’t know why so many people on Hotcopper expect Orocobre to be able to run to nameplate production levels for extended periods of time. It’s an unrealistic expectation. They run a processing plant, not a silicon chip. Stuff happens. Sure as plant manager you want to run close to nameplate, you track the trends, you have investigate incidents, you look for ways to improve and to prevent. But continuous 100%? Nah. And as an investor you need to realize that attempting to run closer to 100% can be very expensive. All that proactive replacement of parts that might last another 2 years. Better to realize that if it’s something that can easily be swapped out and it’s not dangerous, you run it until it breaks or at least until it’s throughout falls too low. The moral: don’t treat failure to achieve 100% as failure.
