April 11 (Reuters) - Australia's Origin Energy (ORG) said on Thursday it had appointed company executive Tony Lucas as its new chief financial officer.
Lucas is currently the executive general manager of the power retailer's future energy and technology division.
Origin, whose shareholders had rejected a $10.6 billion takeover bid by a consortium led by Brookfield last year, said in February its current CFO Lawrie Tremaine would
retire
after seven years with the company.
Lucas has an over 30 years experience across finance, strategy, regulatory policy and advocacy, among others, and has been part of Origin's executive leadership team since 2016.
He led the design and implementation of the data and analytics capability at Origin, and is responsible for finance and commercial in the company's key energy markets unit.
Lucas' appointment will be effective from July 1, Origin said.
