Couldn't help myself Ronme. You brought back memories. Please forgive me if I am off topic.

You were talking about shorters to total sales but back in the day, I have at times bought ALL of the shares sold over several days. Sounds like a lot but not really, volumes were terrible. When I was accumulating PET (IMH, PHK) the daily volume was pathetic, sometimes zero for several days. This in fact was the number one risk in my mind. "If I need to sell these shares who the hell am I going to sell them to". I would look at the market depth and there was simply so-one there.

The volume that I have seen over the last few years is very reassuring. I could now sell all of my shares on any given day and the buyers would be there. I held for well over a decade without that kind of reassurance.
