Its sad that there are still scientists out there with such low expectations for phosphorus reduction. They don't believe that it can be reduced by 20% by 2020.

Is 20% really even a worthwhile target? We all know it can be reduced to by a much greater amount than that virtually overnight. A very slow message to spread so it seems.

We have seen this kind of attitude many many times over. How many lake management authorities and scientific bodies have we seen still searching for answers to this "impossible" problem. I can understand how scientists can be a bit insular in their approach to a lake and persist with methods that they know, even when they know that the methods have such limited success. It is a real shame and so frustrating that it takes so long to change the scientific community's "habits" or mind set.
