MILAN, March 3 (Reuters) - Pirelli PIRC.MI does not plan to close factories as a result of Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, a spokesman for the Italian tyremaker said on Thursday.
"Pirelli is constantly monitoring the development of the impacts of the situation through a specially constituted 'crisis Committee'," the spokesman said. "As things stand we do not foresee stopping production in any factory".
The statement, which refers to all Pirelli's production operations, came after rival Michelin MICP.PA said it was temporarily suspending some activities in plants in Europe due to logistics difficulties linked to the ongoing crisis.
Pirelli manufactures around 10% of its global tyres output in Russia in two plants.
